Alex, a tall and lanky middle schooler with a penchant for humor, strolled into the classroom, a curious look on his face. "Did I miss a memo about casual Monday?", he quipped, glancing around at the students who were all dressed in their usual attire.
Mr. Thompson began taking attendance, his pen scratching on paper. When he looked up, he froze, his eyes widening slightly. "Alex, is there a reason you're not wearing a shirt?" he asked, his voice a mix of sternness and disbelief.
Alex looked down at himself, feigning surprise. "Well, would you look at that? I must have forgotten to finish getting dressed this morning," he replied with a grin, causing another wave of laughter to ripple through the room.
Alex shrugged, finally explaining, "I was in such a rush to get here on time after my shower, I guess I just... skipped a step." His classmates chuckled, some shaking their heads in amused disbelief.
Mr. Thompson shook his head, a small smile playing at the corners of his mouth. "Alright, Alex, why don’t you head to the locker room and grab your shirt? We'll wait for you to start the lesson."
Alex jogged down the hall, his laughter echoing softly. "At least it's not winter," he mused to himself, already planning how he'd turn the morning's mishap into a legendary story for his friends.
