Tony paced nervously, his eyes darting towards the door every few seconds. Jennifer sat on the couch, her fingers intertwined, trying to maintain a calm demeanor despite the fluttering in her stomach. "She'll be here soon," Jennifer reassured, though the words were more for herself than for Tony.
Tony took a deep breath as he invited Mia inside. "Hey, guys! What's up?" Mia greeted, her eyes scanning their faces for any hints of the seriousness behind the invitation. [@ch_2]Jennifer[/@ch_2_d] smiled warmly, "We have something important to discuss with you."
"Mia, we've been thinking about starting a family," Tony began, his voice steady but tinged with vulnerability. Jennifer nodded, her eyes fixed on Mia. "And we've come to realize that we need your help," she added softly. Mia blinked, her mind racing as she absorbed their words.
"You want me to be your surrogate?" Mia asked, her voice barely above a whisper. Tony nodded, "We know it's a lot to ask, but we couldn't think of anyone else we trust more." Mia looked down, her heart torn between her loyalty to her friends and her own aspirations.
Mia stared out the window, the cityscape a blur as she considered the implications of her decision. "I need some time to think," she finally said, her voice resolute yet gentle. Jennifer reached out, "Of course, take all the time you need. We just wanted to ask."
Tony and Jennifer watched Mia's retreating figure, their hearts filled with hope and uncertainty. "Whatever she decides, we'll face it together," Tony murmured, squeezing Jennifer's hand. Jennifer nodded, her eyes reflecting both gratitude and determination as they stood united in the face of the unknown.
