Hiro, Mika, and Kenji strolled down the familiar avenue, their laughter mingling with the city's soundscape. "I can't believe it's closed," Hiro remarked, peering at the shuttered entrance of their favorite lunch spot. "It feels like the end of an era," Mika sighed, tucking a loose strand of hair behind her ear. "Guess we'll have to find somewhere new," Kenji suggested, scanning the bustling street for alternatives.
Hiro paused, intrigued by the nostalgic aroma wafting from the shop. "This place looks interesting," he mused, gesturing towards the entrance adorned with faded banners. "Why not? It's got character," Mika agreed, her eyes alight with curiosity. "And we're starving," Kenji added with a grin as they stepped inside.
As they settled into their seats, a voice rang out from behind the counter. Hiro, Mika, and Kenji?" they heard. Surprised, the trio turned to see Sora, an old high school friend, beaming at them from the kitchen. "Sora! It's been ages!" Hiro exclaimed, his face breaking into a wide smile.
Mika leaned forward, her eyes sparkling. "We had no idea you worked here," she said, a hint of disbelief in her voice. "I started a few months ago," Sora explained, wiping his hands on a towel. "We should catch up properly," Kenji suggested, a plan already forming in his mind.
"How about next Saturday?" Hiro proposed, excitement in his voice. "I'd love that," Sora replied, his smile widening. "It's a date, then!" Mika confirmed, her heart full of anticipation for their reunion.
Kenji looked back at the ramen shop, a sense of contentment washing over him. "Funny how things work out, huh?" he remarked. "Yeah," Hiro agreed, "Sometimes the best plans are the ones you don't make." With hearts light and spirits high, they walked into the night, renewed by the bonds of friendship rediscovered.
