Cindy[/@ch_1], a strong and caring cave woman, wraps her arms around herself, her hands resting protectively on her rounding belly. Beside her is Ross, her loyal and gentle partner, his eyes filled with warmth as he holds Cindy close.]
"It’s getting so cloudy!"
"I agree with you, honey!"
Together, Cindy and Ross gaze upward, watching as the sky begins to change, the clouds swirling and darkening with rapid intensity.
"A thunderstorm!!"
"We need to get to the tent, hurry Cindy!"
Heart pounding, Ross grabs Cindy's hand and they rush through the whipping grass toward their shelter—a primitive tent made from sturdy sticks and woven leaves.
Cindy[/@ch_1] settles carefully onto her leafy bed, clutching her belly, while Ross pulls the heavy leaf curtains closed, their world now confined to the dim, green-lit interior.]
Suddenly, a flash of lightning splits the sky again, and the tent trembles. A cocoa fruit, round and brown, tumbles free from their small pile and rolls toward the tent’s opening.
"No! The cocoa fruits!"
"Stay right here, Cin, I’ll get them!"
Ross[/@ch_2] dashes out into the storm, his silhouette outlined by the flickering lightning. He chases the cocoa fruit, snatching it just as it teeters on the edge of the lake. As he turns to run back, another blinding bolt of lightning strikes, illuminating him for an instant.]
Cindy, shielding her eyes from the brightness, feels her heart leap with terror as the thunder roars louder than before. The world is washed in the blue-white glare of the storm, and then swallowed again by darkness as the rain pours down in sheets.
Cindy[/@ch_1] sits trembling, one hand pressed tightly to her belly. She whispers to herself, gratitude mixed with fear.]
"Thank god my baby is okay..."
Unsteady, she rises and draws back the curtain, stepping barefoot into the muddy clearing. The world feels eerily silent except for the drizzle, the lake’s surface rippling under the rain. Cindy scans the shoreline, searching for Ross.
Cindy[/@ch_1]'s face as she stumbles toward the lake. The cocoa fruit lies abandoned in the mud, but Ross is nowhere to be seen. When she finally spots his still form near the water’s edge, her knees buckle, and she collapses, her cries carried away by the wind.]
"Ross..."
Rain mingles with her tears as Cindy mourns beside the lake, clutching her belly and sobbing for her lost love as the world grows quiet again.
