Koby sits hunched over his workbook, brow furrowed and lips moving as he tries to mouth the words he's reading. Across from him, Aaliyah arranges her own textbooks in a neat pile, her eyes flickering with both concern and determination. The gentle ticking of a clock is the only sound as the siblings settle in for another study session.
Koby[/@ch_1]’s shoulders droop as frustration starts to creep in, while Aaliyah pauses her own work, glancing at her brother.]
"Why is this so hard for me? Everyone else seems to get it so quickly,"
Aaliyah slides her chair closer, her voice gentle.
"It doesn't matter how fast you go, Koby. What matters is that you keep trying. I know you can do this. Let's go over it together, step by step,"
Aaliyah[/@ch_2]’s pencil as she sketches out a diagram on a piece of scrap paper. Outside, the sky has deepened to a richer blue, and the first shadows of evening creep across the desk.]
Aaliyah leans in, her finger tracing the numbers on Koby’s worksheet.
"See? If you break it down like this, it’s not so overwhelming. Let’s try this next one together,"
Koby nods, a spark of hope flickering in his eyes as he picks up his pencil again.
Aaliyah glances at her own untouched homework, anxiety flickering across her face.
"Aaliyah, you have so much to do for school. You don’t have to help me all night,"
"I want to," she says softly, her hand resting on his shoulder. "We’re in this together. I believe in you, Koby. And besides, teaching you helps me too,"
Koby traces his finger over a page filled with his own neat writing, a smile spreading across his face.
"I did it, Aaliyah! I finished the chapter,"
"I knew you could," Aaliyah grins, pride shining in her eyes.
Koby leans back in his chair, looking at his sister with gratitude.
"Thank you, Aaliyah. I know it’s not easy, but I couldn’t have done it without you,"
"You never have to do it alone," she whispers, squeezing his hand. Together, they watch the stars, ready to face tomorrow’s challenges side by side.
