Apollo sat cross-legged on the floor, a pencil twirling absentmindedly between his fingers as he stared at the textbook in front of him. Across from him, Hyacinthus, with his brows furrowed in concentration, flipped through notes, occasionally shooting a glance at Apollo’s phone that buzzed incessantly on the table nearby.
"Aren't you going to check that?" Hyacinthus finally asked, unable to ignore the persistent vibrations any longer.
"It's nothing important," Apollo replied, a slight smile playing at the corners of his lips, though he briefly glanced at the device. "Let's focus on this test. It's a beast!"
Hyacinthus sighed, setting his pen down. "I can't concentrate if that keeps going off," he admitted, leaning back against the couch and rubbing his temples. "Are you sure it's not something urgent?"
Apollo, sensing his friend's growing frustration, picked up the phone and glanced at the screen. "Just a bunch of notifications," he assured, silencing it and placing it face down. "There, now we can get back to work."
Hyacinthus nodded, grateful for the reprieve. "Thanks, Apollo. I just want to make sure we're ready for this," he said, a hint of determination in his voice.
Apollo chuckled lightly, the sound warm and reassuring. "We'll ace it, don't worry. We've got this," he said, picking up his pencil again.
As the evening shadows lengthened, the two friends continued their study, the earlier distraction forgotten as they immersed themselves in preparation for the challenge ahead.
