Ethan sat cross-legged on the carpet, a pencil tucked behind his ear as he glanced over at his sister. Lily, with her hair tied up in a messy bun, frowned at the math problem in front of her, tapping her pencil rhythmically. "Need some help with that, Lily?" he asked, a gentle smile playing on his lips.
"I can't seem to get the hang of these fractions," Lily admitted, her voice tinged with frustration. Ethan leaned over, pointing at the problem with a reassuring nod. "Let's break it down together. Imagine a pizza cut into slices," he suggested, his tone encouraging.
Lily began to scribble notes, her face lighting up with realization. "Oh, I see! It's like dividing the pizza into equal parts," she exclaimed, her eyes bright with newfound clarity. Ethan nodded, pleased with her progress. "Exactly, now you're getting it!"
Lily closed her notebook with a satisfied sigh, looking up at Ethan. "Thanks, Ethan. You make it so much easier to understand," she confessed, her gratitude evident. "Anytime, sis. We're a team," he replied warmly.
Ethan stretched, glancing out at the starlit sky. "Maybe next time, I can help you with something," Lily offered, a playful glint in her eyes. "I'd like that," Ethan replied, ruffling her hair affectionately. They sat together in comfortable silence, content in each other's company.
