Kayla felt a knot in her stomach as she looked at the jumble of letters. Reading had always been a challenge for her, each word a puzzle that refused to be solved. "I wish it wasn't so hard," she whispered to herself, her voice barely audible over the classroom noise.
Maya, Kayla's best friend, approached her with a warm smile. Maya was always there, her encouragement a beacon in Kayla's struggles. "Hey Kayla, want to sit and read together?" she asked, holding out a colorful book. "I'd like that," Kayla replied, feeling a glimmer of hope.
Maya and Kayla sat together, surrounded by towering shelves. Maya pointed to the words, patiently helping Kayla sound them out one by one. "See? You're getting better every day," Maya encouraged, her eyes sparkling with pride.
Kayla focused on her reading homework, her lips moving silently as she tackled each sentence. "I can do this," she thought, recalling Maya's supportive words. Slowly but surely, the letters began to form coherent words in her mind.
Kayla stood nervously on stage, her heart pounding. Maya sat in the front row, giving her a reassuring nod. "I've practiced for this," Kayla reminded herself, taking a deep breath. As she began to read aloud, each word flowed more easily, her confidence growing with every sentence.
Kayla beamed with pride, her heart swelling with accomplishment. Maya rushed to her side, enveloping her in a hug. "I'm so proud of you, Kayla! You did it!" Maya exclaimed, her eyes glistening with joy. Kayla smiled, realizing that with determination and the support of a true friend, she could overcome any obstacle.
