Koby sits hunched over his math workbook, pencil poised but unmoving, his brow furrowed in concentration. The silence in the room is punctuated only by the rhythmic drumming of the rain and the occasional sigh as he flips through the pages, searching for answers that seem just out of reach.
Aaliyah places her books aside, pulling a chair close to Koby. She notices the frustration etched on her brother's face and offers a reassuring smile. "Hey, Koby. Let's tackle this together. I know it's tough, but I believe you can do it,"
Koby hesitates, glancing at Aaliyah's busy schedule laid out beside her. "But you have so much to study yourself. I don’t want to be a burden," Aaliyah shakes her head, her voice gentle but firm. "Helping you helps me too, Koby. We’re in this together,"
With each explanation, Koby's eyes brighten, confidence slowly replacing uncertainty. He attempts a problem on his own, his hand trembling slightly. "Is this right, Aaliyah?" Aaliyah reviews his work, her smile widening. "Yes, that’s perfect! See, you’re getting it,"
Koby leans against his sister, comforted by her presence. "Thanks for not giving up on me. I wish I could learn as fast as you," Aaliyah gently nudges him. "Everyone learns differently, Koby. The important thing is that you keep trying. I’m proud of you,"
Koby shoulders his backpack, a newfound determination in his step. Aaliyah hands him a homemade snack, her eyes sparkling with encouragement. "You’ve got this, little brother," Koby grins, ready to face his studies, knowing he isn’t alone.
