Benny the Bear scratched his head, pondering the mysteries of nature. Lola the Llama trotted over, her eyes sparkling with curiosity. Sammy the Squirrel chattered excitedly from a tree branch above.
"Have you ever wondered why water looks different sometimes?" Benny asked, looking at the pond.
"Oh yes!" Lola exclaimed. "Sometimes it's solid, sometimes it's liquid, and other times it just disappears!"
"That's called the states of matter," Sammy explained, his tiny paws gesturing animatedly. "Water can be solid like ice, liquid like in the pond, or gas like steam!"
"Gas? Like the air we breathe?" Benny asked, tilting his head.
"Exactly!" Sammy replied. "When water heats up, it turns into steam and floats away!"
Lola nudged the ice with her nose, feeling its chill. "This is solid, right?" she asked.
Benny nodded, holding up a cup of water. "And this is liquid," he said, swirling it around.
Sammy scampered over to the kettle. "And this steam is gas! It's like magic!" he cheered.
"What happens when the ice melts?" Lola asked, watching the ice shrink.
"It turns into water," Sammy explained. "And if we cool it again, it'll freeze back into ice!"
"And the steam just becomes part of the air," Benny added thoughtfully.
"Learning about matter was fun," Lola said with a satisfied sigh.
"Yes, now we know so much more about our world," Benny agreed, gazing at the twinkling stars.
"And there's always more to learn," Sammy chirped. "Tomorrow, let's explore something new!"
