Emily, a curious young girl with wide eyes, sits cross-legged, her attention divided between the pages of a book and her chocolate-brown Labrador lying beside her.
"I wish I could read like everyone else," Emily murmurs, her fingers tracing the illustrations.
Chocolate nudges Emily's hand with his nose, as if encouraging her to try again.
"You always make me feel better, Chocolate," Emily says, smiling as she flips the page.
Emily points at a picture of a dog, her face lighting up with recognition. "Look, Chocolate, it's you!" she exclaims, her excitement palpable.
Chocolate barks in agreement, his tail wagging furiously.
Emily gently sounds out a word, her voice growing more confident with each attempt. "I think I'm getting it," she whispers, glancing at Chocolate for reassurance.
Chocolate offers a supportive lick on her hand.
Emily reads aloud, her voice clear and steady. "I did it, Chocolate! I read a whole page!" she announces, joy radiating from her smile.
Chocolate barks in celebration, his eyes bright with pride.
Emily whispers, "Thank you for being my reading buddy, Chocolate," as she strokes his fur.
Chocolate snuggles closer, content in their shared achievement.
