Maria, a woman in her mid-thirties with an infectious smile and an air of determination, sits at the wooden table. Her laptop is open, displaying an interactive English language course. Surrounding her are notebooks filled with scribbles, colorful English textbooks, and an array of pens and highlighters.
"Today’s lesson is about idioms," Maria mutters to herself, her eyes sparkling with interest as she scribbles notes.
David, Maria's husband, enters the room. He is a tall man with a gentle demeanor, his presence bringing a sense of calm.
"Mind if I join you?" he asks, pulling out a chair next to her.
[@ch_1_d]"Of course not,"[@ch_1_d] Maria replies, sliding her laptop slightly to make space. David logs into the same course, excitement evident in his eyes.
"I'm glad we're doing this together," David says, glancing at Maria with a smile.
"It's motivating, isn't it? I feel like we're setting a great example for Liam," Maria responds, her voice filled with pride.
Liam wears large headphones, absorbed in his own online English class. His eyes are wide with fascination as a cartoon character explains the concept of metaphors.
"Wow, that's so cool!" Liam exclaims, jotting down notes with a bright orange pencil.
Downstairs, Maria and David continue with their lesson, occasionally exchanging looks of encouragement. The harmony of their efforts is palpable, a testament to their shared goals.
"I think Liam is going to be fluent before us," David jokes, earning a soft laugh from Maria.
Liam joins his parents, a bright smile on his face.
"I learned about similes today!" he announces proudly.
"That's wonderful, Liam. We're so proud of you," Maria says, wrapping an arm around him.
"We all learned something today," David adds, glancing lovingly at his family.
Together, they sit in the glow of the setting sun, their hearts full, knowing that the journey of learning is one they are taking together, each step bringing them closer as a family.
