Draco Malfoy darted through the darkened path, desperation etched on his face. His heart raced as he approached the ancient Potter family manor, its silhouette a beacon of hope against the night sky.
Henry Potter in the portrait scrutinized the intruder. "Ah, a Malfoy trying to steal from us again," he remarked, his voice a deep echo. Draco stumbled back, startled, as Henry continued, "Your family owes mine a life debt, Malfoy boy."
"I don't want to be a Death Eater. I just needed a place to hide," Draco confessed, his voice tinged with fear and defiance. Henry studied him, "You're under a powerful glamour spell, masking your true identity. I can see the Potter qualities in your magical core."
Draco felt his body shift and change, his features morphing to mirror those of Harry Potter. His hair turned black and unruly, his eyes now a vibrant green. Exhausted, he collapsed into a deep sleep, the spell complete.
"I feel like myself," Draco murmured, examining his reflection, now identical to Harry. Henry smiled from his portrait, "Welcome back to the Potter family. Your father's room has clothes that should fit you well."
Draco Potter sought out Harry, knocking on the compartment door. "Come in," Harry called. Upon seeing his doppelgänger, "Who are you?" he asked, bewildered. Draco explained his transformation and apologized for past wrongs, forging a new bond of brotherhood.
The Sorting Hat declared Draco Potter a Gryffindor, sealing his new identity. As Draco joined Harry at the Gryffindor table, Ron and Hermione welcomed him warmly. "I think I like the new you," Ron laughed, igniting a sense of belonging in Draco's heart.
