Draco Malfoy sat at the long, polished table, his eyes fixed on his father. Lucius Malfoy paced the room, his footsteps echoing ominously. "I have a task for you, my son," he declared, his voice laced with a sinister undertone. "What would you have me do, Father?" Draco responded, eager to prove his loyalty. Lucius turned to Draco, a calculating glint in his eye. "You will become Harry Potter's brother. You will earn his trust, and then, at the right moment, you will betray him," he instructed, removing the Malfoy family charms from Draco and revealing his true appearance as Harry's identical twin.
Draco, now going by his middle name Evan, stood at the doorstep, his heart pounding with anticipation. Vernon Dursley opened the door, his expression a mix of confusion and irritation. "I'm Evan, Harry's twin. I want to live with him," Draco announced, trying to keep his voice steady. Vernon hesitated, fearing the consequences of refusing a wizard. "Fine, but stay out of sight until dinner," he grumbled, reluctantly allowing Draco inside.
Harry Potter stared at Evan, skepticism etched on his face. "I didn't know I had a brother," Harry said coolly, his eyes narrowed. Evan, taken aback by Harry's cold reception, forced a smile. "I always wanted to know you," he replied, determined to bridge the gap between them. Harry, however, remained unconvinced, his instincts telling him something was amiss.
Confined to Harry's room, Evan watched as Harry endured Aunt Marge's insults and the Dursleys' disdain. Evan, moved by Harry's resilience, began to see him not as an enemy, but as a brother. "You don't deserve this," Evan remarked quietly, standing up for Harry when Marge's words cut too deep. It was a stark contrast to his life with Serpent Malfoy, who had never defended him.
Evan could no longer keep the truth hidden. "Harry, I have something to tell you," he began, his voice trembling with emotion. Harry listened intently, sensing the gravity of the moment. "I was sent here to betray you, but I don't want that anymore. I want to be your brother, for real," Evan confessed, his eyes pleading for forgiveness.
Harry studied Evan, seeing sincerity in his eyes. "I believe you," Harry replied, extending a hand in friendship. Evan, overwhelmed with relief, grasped it firmly. In that moment, the bond between them solidified, a promise of brotherhood and a new beginning. Together, they faced the uncertain future, united by a shared past and the hope of what lay ahead.
