Lucius Malfoy stood before the grand dining room table, his mind seething with plans of retribution. Draco Malfoy, his son, sat across from him, eager yet unaware of the intricate web about to entangle him.
"Draco, I have a task for you," Lucius declared, his voice smooth yet commanding. Draco, always desperate for his father's approval, nodded enthusiastically.
"You will help me get back at Harry Potter by giving him what he always desired—a family," Lucius continued, removing the Malfoy family charms that masked Draco's true appearance.
Draco, under the guise of Evan, rang the doorbell, his heart pounding with a mix of anticipation and dread. The door swung open to reveal Vernon Dursley, his face a mask of confusion and irritation.
"Hello, I'm Evan Potter, Harry's twin," Draco introduced himself, forcing a polite smile.
Vernon, wary of magical repercussions, begrudgingly allowed Evan inside, grumbling about keeping out of sight until dinner.
Harry sat on his bed, his eyes narrowing as he regarded Evan with skepticism. Evan tried to appear nonchalant, but the tension was palpable.
"I never knew I had a brother," Evan began, his voice tinged with genuine curiosity and a hint of vulnerability.
Harry, still wary, responded cautiously, "I find it hard to believe, given everything I know about Draco Malfoy."
Evan found himself confined to the room with Harry as Aunt Marge spewed insults downstairs. Evan watched Harry endure the verbal attacks with quiet resilience.
"You don’t deserve this," Evan said, his voice barely above a whisper.
Harry looked at him, a flicker of surprise and appreciation in his eyes. "Thank you," Harry replied, a small smile breaking through his guarded demeanor.
Evan couldn’t keep the pretense any longer. The weight of deception bore heavily on his conscience.
"Harry, I need to tell you something," Evan confessed, his voice filled with remorse.
Harry listened intently as Evan revealed his true identity and the plot orchestrated by Lucius.
"I just want to be your brother," Evan concluded, his eyes pleading for forgiveness.
Harry sat in silence, processing the revelations, before finally speaking.
"I’ve always wanted a brother," Harry admitted, his voice softening.
Evan felt a rush of relief and gratitude, knowing their bond was no longer built on lies.
"Let’s figure this out together," Harry said, extending his hand. Evan took it, feeling the warmth of acceptance and the promise of a new beginning.
