Ella set a large wooden board on the table, her eyes sparkling with excitement. Mark, holding a bag of flour, nudged Liam, who was already reaching for the rolling pin. Sophie giggled as she climbed onto a chair, ready to join the fun.
"Alright, team, let's make the best pizza ever!" Ella announced, clapping her hands together.
"I've got the dough ready," Mark said, his voice full of anticipation as he placed the dough in the center of the board.
Sophie, with her small hands, carefully spread the tomato sauce over the dough, her tongue peeking out in concentration. Liam sprinkled the cheese generously, laughing as some of it landed on Sophie's nose.
"More cheese means more fun, right?" Liam quipped, earning a playful nudge from Ella.
"And let's not forget the mushrooms!" Mark added, tossing a handful of sliced mushrooms onto the pizza with a flourish.
Ella peeked through the oven window, her face illuminated by the soft glow. Sophie danced around the kitchen, her excitement bubbling over.
"I can't wait to taste it!" she squealed, clapping her hands.
"Patience, my little chef," Mark laughed, lifting her into his arms. Liam and Ella stood beside them, watching as the cheese bubbled and the crust turned perfectly crisp.
Ella cut the pizza into slices, the cheese stretching with each pull. Liam reached for a slice, his eyes wide with delight.
"This looks amazing!" he exclaimed, taking his first bite.
"To family and homemade pizza," Mark toasted, raising his glass with a broad smile.
"To the best pizza night ever!" Sophie chimed in, her voice ringing with joy.
Ella leaned back in her chair, her heart full. Mark caught her eye, and they shared a knowing smile.
"We should do this more often," Ella said softly, her voice filled with contentment.
"Absolutely," Mark agreed, wrapping an arm around her shoulders.
With their bellies full and spirits high, the family knew that the simple joy of making pizza together had created memories that would last a lifetime.
