Daniel, a young man with steadfast eyes and calm dignity, walks among the other captives. Despite the chains around his wrists, hope flickers within him. He whispers prayers under his breath, trusting in his God even in a foreign land.
"It torments me! Call my wisemen—let them reveal my dream and its meaning, or let them face death!"
The wise men cower, exchanging anxious glances, unable to help. Fear thickens the air, shadows dancing on the mosaic floor.
"O God of heaven, reveal the king's dream to your servant, that your name may be honored in this land of strangers."
As dawn breaks, an overwhelming peace settles over Daniel. In a vision, God unveils the dream and its meaning.
Daniel stands before the throne, voice steady. "Your dream, O king, was of a great statue—head of gold, chest of silver, legs of iron and clay. It is a vision of kingdoms rising and falling, but only the kingdom of God endures forever."
Nebuchadnezzar rises, awe-struck. "Surely your God is the God of gods! You shall be second only to me in Babylon."
A golden chain is draped around Daniel’s neck as the court murmurs in wonder and envy.
Jealous Official, eyes narrowed, leans in. "Let us trick the king into making a law—no one may pray to any god but him for thirty days. Then Daniel will surely fall."
Their plan set, they approach Nebuchadnezzar with cunning smiles and false flattery.
All is silent except for the low growls of the beasts. Daniel’s voice is soft but unwavering. "My God, you have been faithful in all things. Deliver me from harm, that your power may be known."
As the night passes, not a single lion stirs against him. At dawn, the stone is rolled away, and Daniel emerges unharmed, his faith unbroken.
"Daniel’s God has saved him! But those who sought his life shall face the lions’ den themselves."
The conspirators are cast into the pit, where the lions quickly overpower them. Daniel is honored above all, his faith shining as a beacon in Babylon.
