Peter walked alongside Jesus, feeling a sense of pride as the crowd acknowledged their presence with nods and smiles. "Look at all these people, Jesus," he said, marveling at the busy scene.
Jesus turned to Peter with a calm expression. "Peter, before the rooster crows, you will deny me three times," he said softly, his voice carrying a weight of wisdom and foresight. Peter shook his head in disbelief. "No, Lord, I would never do that," he replied earnestly.
Peter sat among them, his mind troubled by Jesus's words. He watched as shadows flickered across the faces of those around him, feeling a growing unease. "Could it be true?" he wondered, glancing at the others, who seemed blissfully unaware of his inner turmoil.
Peter found himself in a courtyard, surrounded by strangers who recognized him. A Bystander pointed at him, "You were with Jesus, weren't you?" they accused. Startled, Peter replied, "I don't know what you're talking about!" Twice more, he was asked, and twice more, he denied knowing Jesus, each time feeling a pang of guilt.
Peter stood frozen, the sound of the rooster echoing in his ears. Jesus's words replayed in his mind, and he felt a wave of remorse wash over him. "What have I done?" he whispered to himself, tears welling in his eyes.
Peter made his way back through the now-bustling streets, his heart heavy yet determined to seek forgiveness. He knew that despite his moment of weakness, Jesus would welcome him back with open arms. "I must be strong in my faith," he resolved, ready to face the challenges ahead with renewed courage and belief.
