Once upon a time, in a small village surrounded by rolling green hills, there was a school named Sunny Vale Primary. The students in Year 3 were excited because their teacher, Miss Willow, had a special project for them.“We are going to create a Peaceful Garden,” Miss Willow announced with a smile. “This garden will remind us how important it is to have peace in our hearts and to help things grow.”
The children worked together, each bringing something special. Mia brought sunflower seeds because they reminded her of the sun’s warmth. Adam brought tiny sprigs of mint because they smelled fresh and calming. Everyone chose a special corner of the garden to plant their seeds and plants. But not everything went smoothly. The ground was rocky in some places, and it was hard to dig. James got frustrated when his seeds wouldn’t stay in the soil. “I can’t do it!” he exclaimed, sitting down with a pout.Miss Willow knelt beside him. “James, every garden takes patience. Think about what you can do to make it better,” she said gently.James took a deep breath. “I’ll try again,” he said. With a little help from his friends, he cleared the rocks and planted his seeds. “It’s okay to make mistakes,” Miss Willow reminded everyone. “That’s how we learn and grow.”
Weeks passed, and the garden began to bloom. Bright flowers swayed in the breeze, and the mint leaves gave the air a fresh, peaceful smell. The children felt proud of what they had created together. One day, while watering the plants, Mia asked, “Miss Willow, how can we make sure the peace in our garden stays in our hearts, too?”
Miss Willow smiled. “We can be like gardeners in our lives—helping others grow, being patient, and spreading kindness wherever we go.”The children nodded, thinking about how they could be peacemakers in their homes, classrooms, and playgrounds.
Now it’s your turn: What would you add to the Peaceful Garden to make it even more special? Write about what you would plant and why!
