Mira, a cheerful girl with big brown eyes and curly hair tied in pigtails, bounces on the edge of a floral armchair. Nearby, Grandma, with silver hair and kind eyes behind round glasses, sits upright at the piano, her fingers poised above the keys.
"Grandma, can we play the song about the dancing ducks again? The one with the funny notes!"
"Of course, sweetheart! But this time, you have to sing the quacks even louder," Grandma replies with a twinkle in her eye.
Mira stands up and does a little dance, swaying her arms, while her voice rings out: "Quack, quack, quack, the ducks go by, dancing beneath the sunny sky!"
"You have such a lovely voice, Mira. When I was your age, my grandma taught me this very song. Would you like to learn to play it yourself?"
Mira gasps in delight, her eyes sparkling. "Really? I want to play just like you, Grandma! Will you show me the secret to the funny notes?"
"Place your fingers here, and let’s try the first part together," Grandma says softly.
Mira presses a key, tentative at first, then more confidently as the melody begins to emerge. "It sounds a little silly, but I like it!"
"Music is even more special when we make it together," Grandma says, hugging Mira close.
"I want to play music with you forever, Grandma," Mira whispers happily.
"We'll always have these songs, Mira. And whenever you play them, you’ll remember this day,"
Mira nods, her heart full, and leans her head on Grandma’s shoulder as the last rays of sunlight dance across the keys.
