Rosie once basked in the warmth of sunlight, her blossoms a riot of color above the rim of her little pot. Now she droops, her stems brittle and pale, her head bowed low over the lifeless earth. The seasons slide by with little change; only silence and shadows keep her company.
Each day blends into the next, with only the dull ache of thirst and the memory of fragrance to remind Rosie of what she was. She gazes down at her tired pot, feeling the emptiness of the soil. Time passes—days, then weeks, then months—until she cannot remember the last time she reached for the sun.
Gathering every ounce of strength, Rosie tilts her head upward. The glare is blinding at first, but as her vision clears, she witnesses a burst of life: butterflies twirl, birds flit between branches, ladybugs cluster on dewy leaves, and snails glide along mossy stones. The garden pulses with quiet joy, a world alive and waiting.
Butterfly (New Character): A curious and lively garden butterfly who notices Rosie’s movement.
"Oh my, you’re alive!"
Rosie gives a shy, uncertain nod. Suddenly, droplets of water tumble from the sky, splattering against her leaves. The blue sparrow laughs, fluttering its wings to send a playful shower over her. Ladybugs and snails crowd closer, exclaiming in surprise and regret at not noticing her sooner.
With every gentle drop of water, Rosie feels hope stirring in her roots. She breathes in deeply, drawing strength from the kindness around her. Tiny green shoots push from her weary stems, and for the first time in ages, she feels the spark of life returning.
Rosie glances down—and gasps in delight. Her flowers have unfurled, radiant and bold, colors more vivid than she remembers. The blue sparrow, butterflies, ladybugs, snails, and gnomes cheer, their joy echoing through the garden.
Rosie smiles, her heart brimming with gratitude. She knows now that even in the hardest seasons, hope can linger quietly, waiting for the courage to seek help. "We shouldn’t pity ourselves when life feels difficult. Sometimes, the greatest battle we must win is the one within ourselves. And we must remember—we are never truly alone. Help can come in many forms, but asking for it takes courage… and bravery."
