Justin, a bright-eyed boy with tousled brown hair and a backpack slung over his shoulder, inhales deeply, savoring the salty air. He grins, feeling the crunch of sand beneath his sneakers as he takes his first steps onto the beach. Around him, shells glisten and the world feels full of promise.
Justin stoops to pick up a piece of smooth, blue sea glass, turning it in his hand so that it catches the light. He spots something odd—a flash of silver beneath a pile of kelp. Curious, he digs and uncovers a crumpled soda can, its logo faded by the waves.
Justin frowns as he surveys the mess. "Why would people leave all this here? It's hurting the beach and the animals," he says softly, glancing at the distant shapes of gulls searching for food.
Justin uses his backpack to collect as much plastic and waste as he can. "If everyone just picked up a little, the beach would stay beautiful for everyone," he murmurs, determination lighting his face.
A little girl with a pink sunhat hands Justin a trash bag. Little Girl, cheerful and kind-hearted, beams at him. "You're a hero for the beach! Let's save it together," she says, her voice hopeful. The group’s energy grows as more people join in.
Justin looks out at the waves, feeling proud. "We made a difference today. If we keep caring, we can help save planet Earth, one beach at a time," he says, his voice carrying on the breeze.
