In this serene forest, a family of birds, including a pair of pigeons, thrived. The gentle rustle of leaves was interrupted by the sudden arrival of a hunter, his eyes scanning the treetops.
The hunter captured several birds, placing them in a basket, preparing to leave. As he stood under a large oak tree for shelter, the wind howled through the branches above.
The female pigeon looked at her husband with concern. "This man is cold and hungry; he is our guest now. We must help him," she said softly.
The male pigeon flew off and returned with twigs, igniting a small fire. The warmth spread through the air, but as the rain continued, food was nowhere to be found.
Seeing no other option, the female pigeon bravely leapt into the flames, her sacrifice providing sustenance. The hunter, moved by such selflessness, sat in silent reflection.
The hunter released the remaining birds, realizing the true value of compassion. As he walked away, he felt a profound change within himself, the pigeon's gift of kindness forever etched in his memory.
