Raph felt a strange mix of excitement and nervousness as he walked up the stone steps to Rin Okumura's room. The corridors were quiet, save for the soft hum of distant chatter from other students. The plan was simple: help Rin study for the upcoming exams. But as he knocked on the door, he couldn't shake the feeling that the night might hold more than just textbooks and notes.
Rin greeted Raph with a smile, "Hey, glad you could make it. I've got a lot to go through tonight." Raph nodded, setting his backpack on the floor and taking a seat next to Rin. "No worries, I'm here to help," he replied, trying to focus on the task at hand, though his eyes kept drifting to Rin's relaxed demeanor.
Rin paused, setting down his pen and looking at Raph with a seriousness that seemed out of place. "You know, sometimes I think there's more to this than just studying," he said, his eyes locking onto Raph's. Raph felt his heart skip a beat, unsure of how to respond to the unexpected shift in conversation.
Raph took a deep breath, "I... I think you're right," he admitted, surprised by his own honesty. Rin reached out, his touch gentle yet firm. "Then maybe we should stop pretending," he suggested, a soft smile playing on his lips.
Raph leaned in, closing the distance between them, feeling a sense of belonging that he hadn't realized he craved so deeply. "I wouldn't want it any other way," he whispered, as the night's study session transformed into something far more intimate.
Raph awoke to the soft rays of the sun filtering through the window, feeling a warmth both within and around him. Rin was still beside him, a peaceful expression on his face. It was a new day, one that promised changes and challenges, but Raph felt ready to face them, knowing he wasn't alone.
