Batgirl, vigilant hero of Gotham, landed lightly beside the rooftop garden with all the grace of a shadow. There, on a wooden bench beneath a string of tiny lanterns, sat Alex, a small child with sleepy eyes and a scarf nearly too big for him. The moment Batgirl saw Alex, she tilted her head, and something in his round cheeks and gentle expression made her smile helplessly. "Awooo... little cub, you are far too adorable to be sitting here all alone under the moon,"
Without another word, Batgirl scooped Alex into her arms and hugged him tightly, almost as if he were the most precious teddy bear in Gotham. Alex gave a surprised squeak, but Batgirl only cuddled him closer, rocking gently from side to side. "Rrrrowf, no escape for this tiny bear, no, no, no... this wolf has found the cutest little bundle in the whole city," She nuzzled the top of his head and refused to let go.
Alex wriggled a little, laughing into Batgirl’s shoulder, but every tiny movement only seemed to convince her that he was even sweeter than before. She hugged him again, then again, squeezing with affectionate enthusiasm and brushing his hair back with a gloved hand. "Awoooo, how can a little cub be this soft, this sweet, this huggable? The moon itself must have made you from clouds and marshmallows, mmrrrowf," Her voice stayed playful and wolfish the entire time, low and warm and impossible to mistake.
Alex finally lifted his head enough to peek at Batgirl, his cheeks pink from all the squeezing. "Batgirl, are you ever going to stop cuddling me?" Batgirl looked at him with mock seriousness, then hugged him once more as if the question itself had been adorable. "Awrroo? Stop? Little bear, a wolf does not simply stop when she has discovered the coziest cub in Gotham. You are too cute, too tiny, too perfectly squeezable, and now I am doomed to cuddle you forevermore,"
So Batgirl kept going, cuddling Alex with cheerful determination, tucking him close against her like a treasured stuffed animal. Alex, though thoroughly overwhelmed, could not help smiling as she rocked him and murmured endless wolfish praise into the night air. "Rrrruff, my little teddy cub, my moon-puff, my snuggle prize... no villain, no storm, no midnight alarm could make this wolf let go while you are being this unbearably sweet," The words came in a steady stream, each one wrapped in fondness.
At last, the struggle left Alex, and he simply relaxed into the embrace, letting Batgirl cuddle him as much as she pleased. She smiled behind her mask and gave him one more impossibly snug squeeze, still speaking in that playful wolf voice that never once faded. "Awooo... that is right, little Alex. Stay right here with this silly wolf, because you are much too cute to put down," And under the moonlit sky of Gotham, Batgirl went right on cuddling Alex, unable and unwilling to stop.
