Caroline gazed up at the ceiling, tracing the patterns of light with her finger as she waited for her mom to come tuck her in. The room felt peaceful, filled with the quiet hum of nighttime settling in. Shadows danced gently along the walls, promising sweet dreams.
Mom leaned close, her eyes sparkling with love. "Are you ready for bedtime, sweetheart?" Caroline nodded, her cheeks pink with happiness. "I love when you tuck me in, Mommy," she whispered, hugging her favorite teddy bear tight.
Mom stroked Caroline’s hair, her voice gentle as she spoke. "I love you so very much, Caroline. You are my precious girl, and I am so thankful for you every single day." Caroline smiled, her heart full of warmth. "I love you too, Mommy," she replied, squeezing her mother’s hand.
Mom looked at the cross and spoke softly. "Did you know, Caroline, that someone loves you even more than I do?" Caroline looked up, her eyes curious. "Jesus loves you so much. He loves you more than anyone on earth ever could. He died on the cross so we could have forever life and be together in heaven with Him. "
Caroline felt sleepy but thoughtful, wondering about Jesus’s love. "Does that mean we’ll always be together Mommy?" Mom squeezed her hand. "Yes, my darling. Because Jesus loves us so much, we can have eternal life and be together with Him forever."
Mom whispered, "Let’s thank Jesus for His love tonight." Together, Caroline and Mom said, "Thank you, Jesus, for dying on the cross for our sins. Thank you for loving us so much and Thank you for my sweet Caroline." As Caroline drifted to sleep, her heart was full of love and gratitude.
