Nick entered quietly, his eyes scanning the room for any sign of Emma. The house seemed tranquil, a perfect sanctuary from the day's hustle and bustle. "Emma?" he called softly, not wanting to disturb the peaceful atmosphere.
Nick smiled warmly as he approached Charlie, crouching down to the baby's level. "Goo goo, ga ga," Charlie babbled, reaching out with pudgy hands. Nick chuckled, feeling the weight of the world lift off his shoulders.
Suddenly, Nick found himself shrinking, his clothes pooling around him on the floor. His vision shifted, everything around him now towering and vast. He glanced down to see his hands, now small and chubby, like Charlie's.
Emma blinked in surprise, her mind racing to comprehend the impossible. Charlie giggled, and beside him, the new baby—Nick—looked up with wide, curious eyes. "Well, isn't this a surprise," she murmured, a smile spreading across her face.
"Looks like I'll be taking care of two little ones today," Emma said, her voice filled with amusement and affection. Nick cooed happily, clearly content with his newfound state.
Emma hummed softly, her heart full, as Charlie and Nick snuggled close. "It's a magical world, isn't it?" she whispered, glancing down at the two cherubic faces, each content and drifting into slumber.
