Brooklyn sat by the window, her eyes fixed on the distant horizon where the sea met the sky. Her heart was a mix of excitement and apprehension as she thought about the arrival of her new brother. The cottage buzzed with anticipation as her parents bustled around, preparing for the big day.
"I wonder what it will be like," Brooklyn mused aloud, her voice filled with curiosity and a hint of trepidation.
Brooklyn's Mother, a kind-hearted woman with a gentle smile, placed a tray of cookies on the table. "You'll be a wonderful sister, Brooklyn," she reassured, wiping her flour-dusted hands on her apron.
"I hope so," Brooklyn replied, unsure of how her life would change.
Brooklyn lay on her bed, staring at the ceiling. Her mind wandered to the stories her parents had shared about being older siblings. She imagined the adventures and the arguments, the shared secrets and the moments of rivalry.
"Will he like me?" she wondered, clutching her favorite teddy bear tightly.
Brooklyn's Father, a tall man with an infectious laugh, entered the room holding a small bundle wrapped in a soft blue blanket. "Meet your new brother, Brooklyn," he announced with a proud smile.
Brooklyn approached cautiously, her eyes wide with wonder.
Brooklyn gazed down at the baby, her heart swelling with a mix of awe and protectiveness. The Baby's tiny fingers curled around her own, forging an unspoken bond.
"Hello, little brother," she whispered, a smile spreading across her face.
Brooklyn felt a newfound sense of belonging as she watched her parents, her brother nestled safely in their arms. The initial fears and doubts faded away, replaced by the promise of love and shared moments.
"Maybe this won't be so bad after all," she thought, her heart full of hope for the future.
