Jeon Jungkook parked the car and gazed at the ancient chalet, a mix of excitement and unease swirling within him. Beside him, Park Jimin stepped out, clutching a thermos of hot tea, his eyes scanning the shadows that seemed to dance across the wooden walls.
"This place feels... different," he murmured, a shiver running down his spine.
"It's just the wind, Jiminie," Jungkook replied, trying to dismiss the uneasy feeling.
Jimin rested against Jungkook, trying to shake off the feeling of being watched. The silence was profound, broken only by the occasional creak of the old building.
"Do you think there's something out there?" he whispered.
"It's just us, Jimin," Jungkook assured, though his voice betrayed a hint of doubt.
Awakened by a distant shriek, Jimin sat up in bed, his heart pounding. He shook Jungkook awake.
"Did you hear that?" he asked, panic seeping into his voice.
Jungkook, still groggy, tried to calm him. "It's just the wind," he murmured.
But Jimin knew better. He grabbed a flashlight, determination overriding fear, and ventured into the cold, dark forest.
Jimin stopped abruptly, his breath visible in the frigid air. At the center of the clearing was a circle of stones, etched with ancient symbols. A humanoid figure stood within, its back turned.
"Jungkook..." he whispered, gripping his arm tightly as fear coursed through him.
The figure turned, revealing a distorted visage and hollow eyes that seemed to drink in the light. It opened its mouth, emitting a scream that pierced the night.
Jungkook pulled Jimin along, adrenaline propelling them forward. They slammed the door shut, their breaths ragged.
"What was that?" Jimin gasped, his hands shaking uncontrollably.
Jungkook didn't have an answer. He armed himself with a kitchen knife, while Jimin clutched a piece of wood, both listening intently to the sound of footsteps outside.
Jungkook gripped the flashlight, its beam cutting through the blackness, but the creature was gone. He held Jimin's hand tightly.
"Stay with me," he urged.
Then, without warning, Jimin was yanked from his grasp, and Jungkook fell to the floor.
"JIMIN!" he yelled, scrambling to his feet. Outside, the full moon revealed Jimin, unconscious on the ground, the creature looming over him.
Jungkook's knife found its mark, and the creature recoiled, retreating into the shadows. Scooping Jimin into his arms, he rushed back to the chalet, barricading them inside.
Jimin stirred but remained delirious, muttering nonsensical words as if in a trance. Jungkook stayed vigilant, cradling him, praying for dawn.
Jungkook noticed strange markings on Jimin's neck, like burnt symbols etched into his skin.
"Jiminie... what's happening to you?" he asked, tears brimming in his eyes.
Jimin awoke, but his eyes held a different light, an unsettling smile playing on his lips.
"We are never truly alone, Jungkook..." he said, his voice echoing with an otherworldly cadence.
Jungkook realized then that the battle for Jimin's soul was only just beginning.
