Among the round doughnuts covered in sprinkles and glaze sat Long John, a long, rectangular doughnut with a chocolate glaze and custard filling. Long John often felt out of place among the perfectly round doughnuts. "Why can't I be like the others?" he wondered, gazing at his reflection in the glass.
Glazed Doughnut, a cheerful round doughnut with rainbow sprinkles, noticed Long John's silence. "Why do you look so glum, Long John?" he asked with concern.
"I just don’t fit in. I’m not round and colorful like you all," Long John replied, his voice tinged with sadness.
Jelly Doughnut, a soft doughnut filled with strawberry jelly, rolled closer. "Being yourself is what makes you special, Long John. You bring something unique to the bakery!"
Chocolate Glaze, a rich cocoa-covered doughnut, nodded in agreement. "Yes, customers love your sweet custard filling. You’re different, but that's your strength!"
Little Boy exclaimed, "Mom, I want the long one! It looks so cool!"
Mother smiled and ordered a Long John, making the doughnut realize that his unique shape and filling made him special in his own way.
"Maybe being different isn’t so bad after all," Long John thought, feeling a warmth spread through his custard core. He realized that being himself was enough and that uniqueness added flavor to life.
"We are all special in our own ways," Glazed Doughnut declared, as the doughnuts shared stories of their own unique traits.
Long John looked around at his friends, feeling grateful and proud. "Thanks, everyone. Being myself is the best feeling ever," he said happily.
And so, Long John learned to embrace his differences, knowing that being true to oneself was the sweetest thing of all.
