Mom watched as Leo toddled around the garden, his laughter ringing like music in the quiet morning. The scent of roses and freshly cut grass filled the air. Dad stood nearby, grinning as he held a watering can, occasionally sprinkling water on the eager plants.
"Look at him go, love. Our little explorer," he chuckled, pointing as Leo chased a fluttering butterfly.
"He finds magic in everything," Mom replied, her voice filled with warmth.
Leo sat on a colorful blanket spread out beneath the shade of a tall oak tree. His small hands reached out to grab the building blocks scattered around him. Mom joined him, her eyes sparkling as she helped him stack the blocks into a towering castle.
"Once upon a time, there was a brave knight who lived in this castle," she began, weaving a tale that made Leo's eyes widen with wonder.
"And a dragon too?" he asked excitedly, clapping his hands.
"Of course, a friendly dragon," Mom assured him with a smile.
Dad sat in a cozy armchair on the porch, Leo nestled in his lap with a picture book open before them. The gentle breeze carried the scent of jasmine, and the first stars began to twinkle in the darkening sky.
"Look, Leo, this is where the moon lives," Dad pointed to a page, his voice soft and soothing.
"Will it come to say goodnight?" Leo asked, his voice tinged with drowsiness.
"Every night, without fail," Dad replied, gently brushing Leo's hair.
Mom tucked Leo into his bed, wrapping him snugly in his favorite blanket. She picked up a book from the shelf, its cover decorated with colorful drawings of adventures.
"Tonight's story is about how much we love you," she whispered, opening the book to the first page.
"Tell me, Mom," Leo murmured, his eyelids heavy with sleep.
"We love you more than all the stars in the sky," Mom began, her voice a gentle lullaby.
Mom and Dad stood by the doorway, watching their son drift into dreams. Their hearts brimmed with an overwhelming sense of love and contentment.
"He's our little miracle," Dad whispered, wrapping an arm around Mom's shoulders.
"And we'll cherish every moment," Mom replied, leaning her head against him.
As they turned off the light, the sense of love lingered in the room, settling over Leo like a gentle, protective embrace.
