Lila set a plate of pancakes on the table, her eyes twinkling with determination as she turned to her son. Max, her lively toddler, was busy smearing syrup across his face more than his pancakes. "Today is a big day, Max! Are you ready for your potty adventure?" she asked enthusiastically.
Lila laid out a plan, complete with a sticker chart and a basket of small rewards. Max watched with wide eyes, his curiosity piqued. "Every time you use the potty, you get to put a sticker on the chart!" Lila explained, her voice filled with encouragement. Max clapped his hands, eager to begin.
Max stood by the small potty, looking up at Lila with a mixture of excitement and apprehension. "It's just like sitting on your special chair," she reassured him. With a little help, Max settled onto the seat. They waited, the sound of birds chirping outside filling the silence.
Max ran down the hallway, leaving a trail behind him. Lila followed, holding back laughter. "Oopsie!" Max giggled, looking at Lila with innocent eyes. "That's okay, buddy. It happens," she said, scooping him up and planting a kiss on his cheek.
Max sat on the potty, his face scrunched in concentration. Moments later, he beamed up at Lila, who cheered and clapped. "You did it, Max! Look at you go!" she exclaimed, handing him a shiny star sticker. Max placed it on the chart, his eyes shining with pride.
Lila and Max sat together, celebrating the day's victories. "Cake! Cake!" Max chanted, clapping his hands. Lila laughed, lighting the candle and watching her son's face light up with joy. "Here's to more adventures, Max," she said, feeling grateful for the messy, magical moments they shared.
