Tom settled down with a cup of coffee, watching his daughter with a fond smile. Mia was clearly excited, her fork moving erratically as it chased a rebellious piece of pancake across the plate. "Are you ready for today's big adventure?" he asked, already knowing the answer. Mia nodded vigorously, her curls bouncing with each enthusiastic bob of her head.
Mia stood in front of the potty chair, looking at it as if it were a new friend. Tom knelt beside her, offering gentle encouragement. "Remember, it's just like using your big girl chair," he said, pointing to the vibrant stickers. "Okay, Daddy," she replied, her voice a mix of determination and curiosity.
The quiet was broken by a small, tell-tale puddle spreading across the carpet. Mia looked up, her face a mixture of surprise and guilt. Tom approached with a comforting smile. "It's okay, sweetheart. Accidents happen," he reassured, gently lifting her to change. Mia nodded, her little hands grasping his shirt as she leaned into his embrace.
"You did really well today, Mia," Tom said, ruffling her hair. Mia looked up at him, her eyes bright with hope. "I will do better tomorrow, Daddy," she promised, her small voice filled with resolve. Tom chuckled softly, "I know you will, my brave little girl."
Mia squealed with delight, clapping her hands as Tom celebrated alongside her. "You did it, Mia!" he cheered, lifting her up in a joyful spin. "I did it, Daddy!" she echoed, her laughter ringing through the house. The moment was a joyous testament to their teamwork and her growing independence.
Tom tucked Mia into bed, her eyes already drooping with sleep. "Today was a big day," he whispered, kissing her forehead. "I love you, Daddy," Mia murmured, snuggling deeper into her blankets. As Tom watched her drift into dreams, he knew these small milestones were the building blocks of all the adventures yet to come.
