Mom rushed around the kitchen, flipping pancakes and packing lunches. Her brow furrowed as Lila spilled juice on her dress.
"Relax, Mom. It's just a little juice," Max chuckled, a mischievous grin on his face.
Mom hurried the kids into the car, her mind racing with the day's to-do list. Lila tugged at her sleeve, her face earnest.
"Take it easy, Mom. We'll be at school soon," she reassured, trying to ease the tension.
Mom attempted to mediate a disagreement between Lila and Max over cookies. Her patience was wearing thin as the volume escalated.
"Mom, it's okay! We can share," Lila suggested, hoping to diffuse the situation.
Mom watched as Max accidentally knocked over a cup of water, soaking their art projects. Her shoulders slumped with exhaustion.
"Oops! Don't worry, Mom. We can start again," Max offered, trying to keep things light-hearted.
Lila and Max exchanged a glance, finally understanding how much their Mom did for them.
"Mom, why don't you take a break? We can handle dinner," Lila suggested, her voice filled with newfound appreciation.
Mom awoke to find Lila and Max in charge of breakfast, their faces beaming with pride and excitement.
"Today is your day, Mom. We're taking care of everything," Max announced, as Lila nodded eagerly.
Mom felt a wave of gratitude and joy, knowing her efforts were appreciated and understood.
