Kevin, a jovial middle-aged man with salt-and-pepper hair and an ever-present smile, sat at the table, his fingers dancing over the keyboard. "Sun's out, coffee's hot, and I'm ready to conquer the day! #"onward and upward"he typed, finishing with a flourish. Maya, his daughter, walked into the room, catching sight of the familiar Facebook page. Her expression shifted from calm to exasperation. "Dad, please, not everything needs to be shared online," she sighed, pouring herself a cup of coffee. "Oh, come on, Maya, it's just a bit of fun," he replied, flashing a grin.
Maya, now kneeling beside her three-year-old son, Alex, she struggled to keep her phone away him. God forbid her dad see whats happening and capture yet another moment to blast abost her on social media. Oliver, blissfully unaware, giggled as he "grabbed for her phone Dad NO photos, please," she insisted, blocking the camera with her hand. "But look at him! He's adorable. Just one quick snap," Kevin pleaded. "It's not just about you, Dad. We deserves some privacy, too," Maya reminded him, trying to mask her frustration with patience.
Maya took a deep breath, contemplating how to address the issue without hurting her father's feelings. Kevin, oblivious to her inner turmoil, snapped a picture of the sunset. "Look at that view! Perfect for Facebook," he said. "Dad, I've been thinking... maybe we should agree on what gets posted," Maya suggested diplomatically. "Are you serious? I post what i want my lifes a open book," Kevin said, a hint of disappointment in his voice.
amanda and Kevin sat across from each other, their ice cream cones melting slightly in the warm, inviting atmosphere. Kevin, looking thoughtful, broke the silence. "I never realized it bothered you so much," he admitted, his eyes softening. "I just want Oliver to have a choice, you know? And sometimes, it's nice to keep things just for us," Maya explained, her voice gentle. Kevin, nodding slowly, reached across the table and squeezed her hand.
"I'll try to be more mindful, Maya. I promise," Kevin said sincerely. Maya smiled, feeling the tension ease. "Thank you, Dad. That means a lot," she replied, wrapping an arm around him as they walked.
Kevin chuckled softly. "And maybe, just maybe, I'll find something else to share besides every single moment," he joked. Together, they continued down the street, a fresh understanding binding them closer than before.
