Jessica lounged on the plush couch, her fingers deftly tapping on her smartphone. The afternoon sun cast a warm glow over the room, and she giggled as she scrolled through the latest online sales. "Dad, you won't believe the deals I'm finding today!" she texted eagerly.
Jessica felt a thrill as she added item after item to her virtual shopping cart. Her father, Tom, was at work, oblivious to his daughter's spree. "Should I get the red heels or the black ones?" she pondered, texting her best friend for advice.
Despite the rising total, Jessica couldn't resist the urge to splurge. "YOLO, right?" she texted with a smirk. She tapped the checkout button, a mix of excitement and trepidation bubbling inside her.
Tom dropped his briefcase by the door, noticing the unusual quiet. "Hey, Jess, how was your day?" he called out.
Jessica, slightly sheepish, replied, "Oh, you know, just the usual... with a bit of shopping."
Tom paused, his eyes widening as he saw the bank alert. "Jess, what's this charge on my card?" he asked, trying to keep his tone light.
Jessica winced, "Uh, remember the sales I mentioned? I might have gone a bit overboard."
Tom couldn't help but chuckle. "Alright, alright, but let's set a budget next time, okay?" he suggested, ruffling her hair.
Jessica grinned, "Deal, Dad. And thanks for being the best!"
