Olivia, the older sister, sat on the plush couch, her eyes scanning the list of instructions their parents had left. Her brow furrowed slightly as she thought of how best to keep Emma, her little sister, entertained while they were away. "Alright, Emma, what do you want to do first?" she asked with a smile.
Emma, with her pigtails bouncing, tugged at Olivia's hand, her eyes sparkling with excitement. "Can we bake cookies? Please, Olivia?" she pleaded. Olivia chuckled, nodding as she gathered the ingredients. "Alright, let's make a mess," she replied, pulling out a recipe card.
Olivia laughed as Emma attempted to crack an egg, the yolk landing slightly off-target. "Good try, Emma!" she encouraged, helping her sister scoop flour into a bowl. "I want to mix!" Emma chimed, grabbing a wooden spoon enthusiastically.
With the cookies baking, Olivia and Emma headed outside. "Let's see who can swing the highest," Olivia suggested, pushing Emma on the swing. Laughter filled the air as Emma soared higher, her giggles infectious.
After playtime, the sisters settled on the couch with a plate of warm cookies. Emma leaned against Olivia, eyes drooping with contentment. "Did you have fun today, Emma?" Olivia asked softly. "The best day ever," Emma murmured sleepily.
Olivia tucked Emma into bed, feeling a sense of accomplishment. "Sweet dreams, little sis," she whispered, smoothing Emma's hair. As she turned off the light, Olivia felt grateful for the day they had shared, already planning their next adventure together.
