How Does Mary Teach Us Humility? Let’s start at the very beginning. It is written In Genesis 3 that God passes judgment on the those who have sinned in the Garden of Eden—on Adam, on Eve, and on the serpent. God says t the serpent “And I will put enmity between thee and the woman, and between thy seed and her seed; it shall bruise thy head, and thou shalt bruise his heel”. Bruising of a heel is nothing something someone dies from, but in this context, it does point to the fact that in the future, God’s only Son would one day and face trials on Earth. But the crushing of the head…that is a mortal wound. And that is what Mary’s destiny was to be. We will revisit this in detail later for sure!
