Jesus and His disciples are seated together, sharing their last meal. The atmosphere is somber, yet filled with an undercurrent of unspoken emotions.
"Pray for Me," Jesus gently requested, His voice heavy with the weight of what lay ahead.
Jesus moves a little distance from His disciples, His heart burdened with the knowledge of His impending suffering. Kneeling among the ancient trees, He pours out His heart in prayer.
"Father, I don’t want to suffer, but if it is Your will, I will do it," He speaks, His voice a blend of anguish and surrender.
God sends an angel to comfort Jesus, wrapping Him in a warm embrace of hope and strength. The angel's gentle words are a balm to Jesus' troubled heart, renewing His resolve.
Peter, one of Jesus' closest disciples, follows at a distance, his heart pounding with fear and confusion. As the soldiers seize Jesus, Peter finds himself questioned by those who recognize him.
"That is one of Jesus’ followers!" a servant girl insists, pointing at Peter.
"I don’t even know Jesus!" Peter exclaims, fear gripping his heart.
Peter sits near the fire, his mind a whirlwind of shame and regret. Accusations continue to follow him, each one piercing like a dagger.
"You must be one of Jesus’ special friends," a man comments.
"I am not!" Peter insists, his voice trembling.
Jesus, now a captive, turns and looks at Peter with eyes full of love and forgiveness. That single glance speaks volumes, penetrating the depths of Peter's soul.
"I don’t know what you are talking about!" Peter shouts, the realization of his denial crashing over him.
Peter runs to a secluded place, sobbing bitterly. Yet, within his heart, he feels the seed of hope planted by Jesus' forgiving gaze, knowing redemption is possible.
