A wise man stood by the river, his eyes reflecting the serenity of the scene. His student sat beside him, observing the river's flow and the stones beneath the surface. The student broke the silence, his curiosity piqued by the stones.
"Master, why do these stones, no matter how big they are, become smooth and soft against the flow of the water?"
The wise man smiled gently, holding the stone in his hand. "Look at this stone," he said, turning it over carefully. "When it first enters the river, it has sharp, rough edges. But over time, the constant flow of water wears down those edges, making it smooth and soft."
"So, are you saying that even though water is soft and gentle, it can change hard stones?" the student asked, his voice filled with newfound understanding.
"Yes!" the wise man replied, his tone calm yet firm. "This is a law of life. If someone is patient and consistently pursues their goals with gentleness, even the toughest challenges will soften. Just as water never gives up, we must learn from our failures and keep moving forward."
From that day on, whenever the student faced a problem, he would remember the sound of the river and his master’s lesson. He continued on his path with calmness and faith in his goal, knowing that gentleness combined with perseverance holds an unmatched power.
