Ali sits cross-legged on the couch, his red top and blue short pants slightly rumpled. Crumbs of chips and bits of chocolate surround him as he stares intently at the screen, giggling at his favorite show. The sunlight highlights the untouched jump rope by the door and a soccer ball resting quietly in the corner, covered in dust.
"I don’t want to brush my teeth today. It tastes funny and takes too long," he mumbles, reaching for another handful of potato chips.
Ali rummages through the pantry, searching for something sugary. He ignores the shiny apples in the fruit bowl, opting instead for another chocolate bar. The refrigerator hums quietly, filled with untouched vegetables and milk.
"Junk food is yummy! Why eat those boring carrots?" he says, stuffing a cookie into his mouth and smiling at the taste.
Ali lounges deeper into the couch, legs tucked under him, eyes glued to the glowing tablet. The room is quiet except for the sounds of cartoons and digital games. Outside, the wind rustles the leaves, but inside, everything is still.
"I don’t want to go outside. Playing is too tiring. The couch is much more comfortable," he sighs, barely glancing at the window.
Ali clutches his stomach, a frown replacing his usual cheerful grin. His head aches, and his teeth throb with a dull pain. The wrappers and empty snack bags now seem unappealing, and his energy is gone.
"I don’t feel good at all. My tummy hurts and my mouth feels funny," he whimpers softly, curling up on the couch.
A kind doctor kneels beside Ali, her smile warm and reassuring. She gently checks his temperature, then listens as he describes how he feels. Her gentle voice echoes with wisdom.
"Ali, our bodies need healthy food, exercise, and clean teeth to stay strong and happy. If you brush your teeth every day, eat fruits and veggies, and play outside, you’ll feel much better," she explains, handing him a bright green toothbrush.

Ali laughs as he jumps rope, feeling light and energetic for the first time in days. He takes a big bite of a crisp apple, savoring the sweet taste. The television is off, and the tablet rests on the shelf, forgotten for now.
"I like taking care of myself! I want to be healthy and strong every day," he declares, his eyes shining with pride.
