Dr. Avag sat comfortably in his favorite armchair, surrounded by books depicting tales of healing and self-discovery. The gentle hum of soft music filled the room as sunlight streamed through the large window, creating a serene atmosphere. Across from him, a young girl with weary eyes and a guarded expression took a seat, clutching her backpack tightly.
Anahit was new to this space and unsure of what to expect. "Welcome, Anahit. How are you feeling today?" She hesitated before responding, "I'm not sure, really. Everything feels...heavy."
The afternoon light danced across the room, casting playful shadows on the walls. Dr. Avag leaned forward slightly, his eyes kind and attentive. "It's okay to feel that way. You can share whatever you feel comfortable with. This is your space to be yourself."
Anahit paused, her fingers fidgeting with the zipper of her backpack. "I guess I feel like I'm always disappointing people. It's like I'm never enough," she confessed, her voice barely above a whisper. Dr. Avag nodded, understanding the weight of her words.
The comforting aroma of herbal tea filled the room as Dr. Avag offered a steaming cup to Anahit. "Sometimes, we set expectations for ourselves based on what we think others want. But it's important to know your own worth," he said softly.
Anahit looked at him, searching for some reassurance that such a concept was possible. "I want to help you see yourself as the wonderful person you truly are," Dr. Avag continued, his voice steady and warm.
As the evening glow settled in, casting a soft flicker of candlelight across the room, Anahit's defenses began to lower. "I don't know where to start," she admitted, a hint of vulnerability in her tone.
Dr. Avag smiled gently, "Every journey begins with a single step. Let's take it together," he encouraged, offering a fatherly presence that Anahit had been missing.
The night was cozy, stars visible through the large window as Dr. Avag and Anahit continued their conversation. "What are some things you love about yourself?" he asked, gently prompting her to reflect.
Anahit thought for a moment, "I guess I like how I care about others, even if it sometimes feels like a burden," she replied, realizing for the first time that empathy was a strength, not a weakness.
As morning light filtered into the room, a sense of renewal filled the air. Anahit left the session with a newfound sense of hope, Dr. Avag's words echoing in her mind. "Remember, you are deserving of love and happiness, just as you are," he had said, his voice like a soothing balm.
With each session, Anahit felt lighter, more confident. She was learning to love herself, one step at a time, with the guidance of a wise and caring father figure who believed in her potential to heal and thrive.
