Amber stood in the center of the yard, her posture confident and unyielding. Her skin glistened with a light sheen of sweat, accentuating the defined muscles of her arms. Brenda sat cross-legged on the swing, her delicate frame dwarfed by the sturdy wooden seat.
"Come on, Brenda, you have to admit these are impressive," Amber teased, flexing her biceps with a playful grin.
Brenda tilted her head, trying to mask her awe with a smirk. "Alright, alright, you win the bicep contest," she conceded, rolling her eyes with exaggerated annoyance. But beneath her playful exterior, admiration flickered.
Amber shifted her stance, now drawing her sister’s attention to her core. "And check out these abs!" she exclaimed, the muscles of her stomach rippling as she flexed.
Brenda couldn't help but laugh, the sound carrying across the yard. "Show-off," she teased, throwing a nearby acorn at her sister. Amber caught it with ease, her reflexes as sharp as her muscles.
"Hey, it's not my fault you're more into books than burpees," Amber retorted, her eyes twinkling with mischief.
Brenda watched her sister, a soft smile playing on her lips. "You know, I admire your dedication," she admitted, her voice sincere. Brenda leaned back on the swing, feeling the cool breeze against her skin.
Amber shrugged, a hint of bashfulness creeping into her demeanor. "Thanks, but I admire your brainpower," she replied, nudging her sister gently.
Brenda hopped off the swing, joining Amber in the center of the yard. "Maybe we can learn a little from each other," she suggested, a hopeful tone in her voice.
Amber nodded, wrapping an arm around her sister's shoulders. "Yeah, I'd like that," she agreed, pulling Brenda closer.
The sisters lingered a moment longer, their bond strengthened by the day's playful rivalry. Under the vast night sky, they found comfort in each other's presence, ready to face tomorrow together.
