Tori Hanson, her blonde hair pulled back in a ponytail, stands confidently beside a bright blue surfboard. By her side is a nervous young boy, clutching a smaller board and glancing anxiously at the sea. Nearby, Shane Clarke and Dustin Brooks, Tori's fellow Power Rangers and friends, settle into the sand, ready to watch the lesson unfold.
"Surfing is all about balance and trusting yourself," Tori says, her voice reassuring. She demonstrates the pop-up motion, moving from lying flat on the board to standing in one smooth motion. The boy mimics her movements, his brow furrowed in concentration. Shane leans forward, grinning, while Dustin gives the boy an encouraging thumbs up.
Tori steadies the boy's board and encourages him to paddle. "Remember, keep your eyes forward and stay low when you stand," she reminds him. The boy, emboldened by her calm presence, takes a deep breath and starts paddling out, glancing back for reassurance. Shane calls out, "You got this, dude! Show those waves who's boss!"
"Okay, get ready—here comes your wave!" Tori says with excitement. The boy paddles hard, feeling the surge beneath him, and then pops up shakily as Tori cheers him on. He wobbles, arms flailing, before tumbling into the water with a splash. Laughter and applause erupt from the shore. "Not bad for a first try!" Dustin shouts.
"Falling is part of learning," Tori assures the boy, ruffling his hair. "Yeah, Tori wiped out a hundred times before she was any good," Dustin teases, winking. The boy laughs, encouraged, and nods eagerly when Tori asks if he’s ready to try again. The group’s camaraderie is evident in their easy banter and warm smiles.
"That's what I'm talking about!" Shane yells, pumping his fist in the air. Tori grins, giving the boy a high five as he returns to shore, triumphant. The friends gather around, celebrating the small victory as the sun dips lower, painting the sky in shades of pink and gold. The beach echoes with laughter and the promise of many more adventures to come.
